Solus Decor is a Vancouver, BC-based manufacturer of concrete fire pits, fire tables, water features, and fireplace surrounds, designing and producing every piece from its Canadian facility since 1998. Solus products are CSA, ANSI, UKCA, and CE certified, ship to over 30 countries, and have been installed in more than 9,000 residential and commercial projects worldwide.
Our Story
Solus Decor was founded in 1998 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with a straightforward premise: that concrete — a material defined by permanence, weight, and the ability to take on elegant form — deserved to be at the centre of outdoor living design, not used merely as a structural afterthought.
For over 25 years we have designed, cast, assembled, and shipped concrete fire pits, fire tables, water features, tiles, and fireplace surrounds from our Vancouver facility. What began as a local operation now ships to more than 30 countries, with showrooms and warehouses in Vancouver, the United Kingdom, and Spain. At last count, our products have been specified and installed in over 9,000 projects — residential gardens, commercial terraces, hotel courtyards, and everything in between.
We have not moved away from concrete. The rest of the market has cycled through materials and trends. We have stayed with what works.
What We Make
Solus Decor produces four core product categories, all designed in-house and manufactured in Canada
Fire Pits and Fire Tables
Our concrete fire pits and fire tables are available in gas (natural gas and propane) and ethanol configurations. All gas-fired units are CSA, ANSI, UKCA, and CE certified — meaning they meet the safety standards required for residential and commercial installation in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. We manufacture the burner components ourselves, which gives us direct control over quality, fit, and finish.
Fireplace Surrounds
Our fireplace surrounds bring the same concrete design language indoors. Clean geometry, material depth, and a finish that improves with time.
Tiles and Accessories
Concrete tiles and a range of accessories designed to complement and complete Solus installations.
Water Features
Our water features are designed for year-round outdoor installation and engineered to operate through temperature extremes. Being manufactured in Canada, all Solus products are built to withstand the freeze-thaw cycles and temperature ranges that the Canadian climate produces — a standard that significantly exceeds what most outdoor products are tested to.
How We Design and Make Our Products
Every Solus product starts as a design conversation. New products and redesigns can come from anyone on our team, or from a suggestion by a landscape designer, architect, or client who says “what about” or “could you.” That openness to the source of a good idea has kept our range practical and relevant for over two decades.
Once a design is confirmed, everything is made in-house. We cast our own concrete, build our own burner components, and complete our own assembly and quality inspection before anything ships. The benchmark is simple: if a piece would not go into one of our own homes, it does not leave the facility.
Certifications
All Solus gas fire pits and fire tables carry the following certifications:
- CSA (Canadian Standards Association) — required for installation across Canada
- ANSI (American National Standards Institute) — required for installation across the United States
- UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) — required for the UK market post-Brexit
- CE (Conformité Européenne) — required across the EU
We are audited by an independent external certification laboratory on a regular basis. These certifications are not marketing claims — they are the result of third-party testing and ongoing audit, and they are the reason Solus products can be legally specified and installed in residential and commercial projects across North America, the UK, and Europe.
Our Team
Solus Decor is a team of 20 people: artisans, designers, sales specialists, and customer support. The team is deliberately small relative to our output — we are not structured for volume at the expense of quality. Every product that ships has been handled, inspected, and approved by the people who made it.
We are members of HAVAN (the Homebuilders Association of Vancouver), reflecting our long-standing relationship with the professional building, design, and architecture community in British Columbia.
Our products are available on CADdetails, the specification platform used by architects and landscape designers across North America to download drawings and product data for professional project specifications.
